Bush Fire Benefit At Eddies Poolroom
Adrian organised a second bush fire appeal at Eddies Poolroom last Friday night and it was a roaring success in more ways than one. Three bands offered their services freely plus Eddies Poolroom chipping in as well. The bands were the Treblettes, Lost In Louisville and the Pearly Shells Hot 5. About $3,500 was raised on the night through a mix of entry fee, silent auction and raffles.
It was advertised as a swing night but rock n r...Read Full Post »

Bush Fire Benefit Event - Eddies Poolroom Fri 17th Jan 2020
A bush fire benefit gig featuring the Honky Tonk Rockers and Jump Cats was held at Eddies Poolroom last Friday night drawing in a big crowd of rock n roll and swing dancers who were very enthusiastic to do their little bit in support of those communities devastated by the recent, and ongoing, bush fires around Australia. It was a fantastic night of dancing to country rock music by the Honky Tonk Rockers and jump blues from the ...Read Full Post »

You're never too old to rock! Here is a great youtube clip of Karin and Erwin Schilling on Sunrise TV show from 2011. It's a great interview and includes lots of footage of them dancing, including at Red Hot Rockers Adrian's dance class at the Whitehorse (where they learnt to dance many years ago) and a brief interview with Adrian.

Congratulations to Red Hot Rockers dance teacher Adrian Spadaro for his nomination for Victorian Rock n Roll Dance Association Hall of Fame for 2017.
Adrian has made a considerable contribution to the Melbourne rock n roll scene over the past 25 plus years, firstly as a dance competitor, then as a dance teacher and dance promoter. At Monday nights salsa class the term Ambidancer was used. An ambidancer is a person who can dance as both a lead and a follow. Durring the beginners class there were more ladies (follows) than guys (leads) so durring the class Adrian had the 2 spare ladies dance as leads and follows. At each roatation the follow moved on, the leading lady moved to become the follow and the next lady moving around the cirlce then had a go at leading. This meant that all the ladies (fol...Read Full Post »

Very impressed with the new supper items on offer at the Whitehorse Club at the dance on Fri 11th March. Entry to the dance included a supper ticket which was redeemable for a plate with a choice of pulled pork slider, mini hamburger, meatballs or cheesy rice balls. Extra items were available for purchase at $2 each, and all were delicious. The price of drinks had all been lowered with a glass of wine or spirits at only $5 and bottled water for $2. Not often the price of things goes down!. Ot...Read Full Post »

Have you checked out the new dance venue yet? You'll be pleased with the size of the dance floor at Buckley Park Bowls Club, plus the smoothness of it. It has to be one of the smoothest dance floors around. The club has a lovely ambience to it, being situated in a park, with a full wall of windows overlooking the park and trees of the car park. The staff are friendly, the airconditioning is great and ceiling fans help keep the dance floor cool all night long. Tab...Read Full Post »

Melbournes most popular rock n roll band, the Fender Benders, filled West Coburg Bowls club and kept the dance floor rocking all night long. No wonder they are the hardest working dance band around - they consistently give the rockers exactly what they want, great dance music all night long.

What a lovely venue for the sunday afternoon / evening westcoast classes. The people are so friendly and pleased to have the rockers in the club rooms, the floor is a delight to dance on, and the outlook over the bowling greens is lovely. Everyone had a great time learning the smooth westcoast routine and are getting the hang of this style of dance. It is great dancing to lots of different music as a change from the usual rock n roll that you get at all the other venues....Read Full Post »

The Cup Eve dance was a full house with well over 200 rockers enjoying a terrific night. Most dressed up in cup style with lots of hats, fascinators and suits. The Vincents had the dance floor packed all night and as an added extra a new band called the "Smokin Wingtips" played a couple of sets as well. What an energetic young band who have only been playing together for 6 months! They played some great fast rock n roll and were certainly "smokin hot". Hopefully ...Read Full Post »

The Fender Benders had the dance floor pumping all night long with everyone enjoying the great music. Several first time beginners had a great night mastering a few basic steps in the beginners class taught by Gavin, and then ventured onto the dance floor and joined in with the social dancing and progressive dances. The advanced class in the main room was enjoyed by all who mastered some new moves before dancing the night away. A surprise happy birthday to Gavin with cup cak...Read Full Post »

About 120 people enjoyed a great night of dancing at the Whitehorse Club on Wed 3rd Sept. A lesson from 7 - 8.30pm was followed by lots of social dancing to the band the Fender Benders until 11pm. Platters of finger food were served on all the tables to keep the energy levels up and the crowd enjoyed catching up with dancers they haven't seen for a while. Lots of progressive dances got everyone mingling and meeting up with new and familiar faces. And everyone enjoyed r...Read Full Post »

Copy of the "Mind, Body, and Soul" tv show review of Adrian's classes from 2009.
"Red Hot Rockers" is how Adrian Spadaro advertises his weekly swing, jive, and rock and roll classes. People must like it because some weeks there are 140 on the floor.
The last dance hall Adrian hired would get so full that sometimes people would be standing on each other’s toes! What attracts all these people to swing, jive, and rock a...Read Full Post »
