Treat dance floors with respect.
We all love our dance floors and the great dance venues who welcome us. Rock and rollers have a great reputation as fun loving and well behaved patrons so lets all work together to hold true to that reputation and remember to treat our dance venues with respect. Please try not to spill drinks on the floor and avoid carrying drinks across the dance floor. If you do spill a drink, please make sure you wipe it up. A spilt drink can cause a slippin...Read Full Post »

Apart from being a challenging fitness regime, dance classes also teach skills in co-ordination, how to knock down social barriers, how to express emotions and embrace a stranger respectfully in s...Read Full Post »

What is Westcoast?
Westcoast is a very smooth and easy dance to learn, a type of modern jive / ceroc dance style that can be danced to most music from top 40 hits, to big band swing music, and everything in between, as well as rock n roll. Its a great dance to know when the music isn't right for rock n roll and once you learn it you can use all your rock n roll moves to dance westcoast. There is some confusion with this and West Coast Swing which is a lindy hop derivative...Read Full Post »

What is the difference between westcoast and west coast swing?
Westcoast being taught by Adrian has a straight count footwork, like the hustle, using rock and roll moves but with no backstep so it is very easy to learn and a perfect introduction to dancing for first timers.
"When I started teaching about 30 yrs ago this style was being taught as Westcoast Swing. It is actually a Hustle variation.
The name was probably changed to make it a little more Moder...Read Full Post »
